The Hong Kong Trebles’ Association is proud to host the 2005 World Children’s Choir Festival in Hong Kong. By co-presenting the Festival with the International Federation for Choral Music, Music Education Professional Committee of China Society of Education, the Association sharpened the choral professionalism of all participants and provided them with a taste of the quintessence of Chinese and western choral cultures. Highlights of the Festival were 4 evening concerts at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre including Glorious Sun Group – Festival Opening Concert, Asian Night, HKFYG Grand Songbridge Gala Concert and Closing Concert; 18 constructive workshops and 2 conductors’ forums with choral experts from around the world; performances of 15 renounced overseas choirs; visit to local schools for cultural exchange activities; 8 free afternoon concerts and World Premiere of 5 Festival commissioned pieces by renowned composers including local works by Dr. Richard Tsang and Dr. Steve Ho.
