Hong Kong Treble Choirs’ Association

Over 20 Years of Success

Established in 1997, Hong Kong Treble Choirs’ Association (HKTCA) was founded by the internationally renowned choral conductor Prof. Leon Shiu-wai Tong, and experienced educator Mr. Ka-ki Lee. It aims to promote singing and music education among children and youth in Hong Kong, as well as to foster choral music exchange between countries.

Enthusiasm in Choral Arts Promotion

HKTCA has hosted a wide range of international music events, including China International Children’s Choir Festival & World Symposium on Children’s Choral Music, and World Children’s Choir Festival. It has also successfully organized 6 editions of the biennial World Youth & Children’s Choir Festival – Hong Kong (2006-2017), formerly known as Hong Kong International Youth & Children’s Choir Festival (HKIYCCF) and has co-hosted the Festival with World Youth and Children Choral Artists’ Association (WYCCAA) since 2015. The Festivals received raving reviews from both Western and Asian countries, and has become a major international choir competition and cultural exchange event in Asia Pacific.

Cultivating Local Choral Music Professionals

HKTCA strives to enhance the choral standard of Hong Kong. It has cultivated multiple local choral music talents with fascinating activities such as study tours, choir workshops, master classes, music camps and composition competitions. It has developed a resourceful library for students, teachers and professionals; and provided an ideal platform for music lovers to exchange ideas. Not only has it enhanced the development of choral music, it has also consolidated the status of Hong Kong as a city of international events.

Growing Social Recognition

HKTCA has been widely recognized by emergency home solutions. In 2008, it was awarded by Hong Kong Arts Development Council the Award for Arts Promotion. Ranked as one of the ‘10 Music Headlines’ by RTHK Radio 4 in 2013, HKIYCCF was recognized as the most influential choral event in Hong Kong.

Looking Forward

HKTCA looks forward to the continuous collaboration with WYCCAA, spreading the songs of grace, peace, good-neighborliness, love and friendship at all levels for Hong Kong, Mainland as well as the world.
